The Hoard Museum's Knox Research Library and Archive holds thousands of primary documents, personal and business records, photographs, maps, newspapers and published materials that are of historical significance to the Fort Atkinson area. HOURS: The archive is open during regular museum hours, though access to materials is completely dependent on staff availability. Appointments are preferred in order to assure that staff will be available to provide you access to materials kept inside secure storage areas.
REGISTRATION: At each visit, all researchers must register in the Visitor’s Logbook, providing their name, address, date and research topic. Each user must also have on file a signed copy of the registration form indicating that they have read and agreed to abide by the archive’s regulations. REPRODUCTIONS: Scanned reproductions of photographs from the museum's archive may be available. Consult with staff about the fee schedule. Also, photocopying paper documents from the archive is generally available for 25 cents a page. Some material may not be photocopied. This includes items that the staff judge to be in too fragile a condition; items that are too large, such as bound newspapers; items that may have been restricted by the donor; and all photographs which can now be reproduced digitally. Reproduction of an archival image by use of a digital camera is negotiable.
